What's scarier than a Predator?

How about twoPredators, one of which is even bigger and meaner than the Predator we already know and love to fear?

That's apparently the premise of The Predator, as revealed in exclusive footage shown at Comic-Con Thursday.

The clip finds all the human heroes (including ones played by Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, and Keegan-Michael Key) on a middle school campus at night, waiting for the Predator.

Before they can find it, though, it finds them, grabbing Holbrook's character and pinning him against the wall. Before the Predator can finish the job, though, anotherPredator finds it, and the two Predators start to battle while the humans hurry away in an RV.

The second Predator is significantly larger and stronger than the first one, and basically smashes his rival into the ground like he's Hulk with Loki in the first Avengers. Munn's character, watching the action from the car, says, "What, are they hunting each other now?"

At the panel, Shane Black — writer and director of The Predator, and co-star of the original Predator— explained that the bigger Predators are fighting back after being "bested" by Earthlings in the previous films.

"They send their champions to Earth and they don't come home. They don't like that," explained Black.

"So we figured they want to punch back. There's a potentially contentious faction on the Predator homeworld that might not be above a little bit of 'roiding, picking up characteristics and survival traits from every species they've hunted."

In other words, they're not just regular-Predator dangerous — they're regular-Predator-plus-everything-they've-ever-hunted dangerous.

Black emphasized that he and his team were careful not to tinker with the "iconic" Predator look toomuch.

Still, you should be scared.

"They're fast, they're deadly, they're lithe," he said. "They move quick and they hit, strike, repeat. There's a feeling of deadly purpose and absolutely bloodcurdling fucking efficiency. That's what we wanted — completely savage, brutal creatures."

And, yes, there will be blood. Lots and lots of green, glowy blood. "We got us an R-rating," Black said with a satisfied smile.

The Predatorhits theaters Sep. 14.
