The Rock finally explains his beef with Vin Diesel on 'Fate of the Furious'
We finally have some answers regarding what was arguably the biggest feud of 2016, outside of the election.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson gets remarkably candid about his beef with Fate of the Furiousco-star Vin Diesel in an extensive interview with Rolling Stone. Their rivalry, initially made public by Johnson, spurred headlines throughout production for the film (how could it not? Johnson called Diesel a "candy-ass" on Instagram), and later reiterated that it all boils down to their different mentalities.

"Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer," Johnson explained to RS. "And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I'm grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not."
Johnson explained that he wasn't sure what that meant for his involvement with the franchise in the future.

"Right now I'm concentrating on making the spinoff as good as it can be," he explained, referencing the film Hobbs and Shaw. "But I wish him all the best, and I harbor no ill will there, just because of the clarity we have."
But don't worry — just because there is clarity now does not mean The Rock has lost his pettiness. Thanks to interviewer Josh Eells, it's plain and clear how Johnson really feels.
"He considers this, then lets out a big, sly laugh. 'Actually, you can erase that last part about 'no ill will.' We'll just keep it with the clarity,'" Eells wrote in the profile.
Johnson made similar comments to Entertainment Tonight about differing philosophies between the two in 2017, but it looks like time hasn't healed all of the scars quite yet.
